Common side effects

Common side effects of doxycycline include:

  • angioedema (skin swelling)
  • nausea and vomiting
  • oesophagitis or gastritis
  • diarrhoea
  • overgrowth of other organisms, for example leading to thrush
  • headaches
  • sensitivity to light
  • hives
  • skin rash
  • systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) getting worse
  • blurred vision
  • hypersensitivity
